In response to the May 20 tornado in Oklahoma, the American Red Cross has mobilized volunteers and dispatched relief supplies and response vehicles to help people in need. Three local Red Cross disaster responders from the Palmetto SC Region have deployed to help with Oklahoma relief. Two will be on the ground in Oklahoma and the other responder will support logistical operations in the Disaster Operation Center at the Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The Red Cross anticipates that more volunteers will deploy in the coming days and keeps all of its volunteers and vehicles on stand-by to deploy in a moment’s notice.
