Safety commission seeks answers after meeting

What triggers someone to bully, steal, use drugs or even commit such a violent act as a mass shooting? Members of the Kershaw County Safe Communities Commission are now actively seeking answers to those questions after hashing out preliminary objectives during their first meeting held Wednesday. With such a goal in mind, the 14-member commission, recently created by Kershaw County Council after a mass shooting in a Newtown, Conn., elementary school, concluded that feedback from the county’s Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SS/HS) grant should be culled and presented to the group before moving forward.
