Starting next month, Kershaw County fourth graders will begin the Dollar Scholars program to learn how to manage money. The program is a part of the United Way of Kershaw County’s Care Council on financial stability. “(Financial stability) originated as one of the core values of the United Way and the Dollar Scholar program originated because of the Care Council’s desire to address the need for financial education in Kershaw County. It is shown that fourth grade is a great location to start talking about money with children,” said Financial Stability Center Coordinator Lynn Blizzard.
