School officials press KCC over budget request
Wise seeks community response before approving funds

A string of recent financial moves by Kershaw County Council has drawn added scrutiny from Kershaw County School District (KCSD) officials because, they say, a funding request has essentially gone unanswered. In August, the KCSD asked for approximately $500,000 in new funds to be generated through a 4.7 mil increase that must ultimately be approved by council. The request stemmed from a recent “last-minute cut” in state funding according KCSD Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan.
