Kershaw County GALs celebrate 25 years
Guardian ad Litem
Local residents serving in the countys guardian ad litem (GAL) program were invited to the State House June 6 by State Rep. Laurie Slade Funderburk in honor of the programs 25th anniversary. Guardians are volunteers who represent children in family court cases. Kershaw County GALs work about 50 cases per month, serving approximately 100 children each month.
Kershaw County’s Guardian ad Litem (GAL) program is celebrating its 25th anniversary. On June 5, the Guardian ad Litems (GALs) were honored at the State House in Columbia by State Sen. Vincent Sheheen and State Rep. Laurie Funderburk. The group will celebrate again in November, the month it was founded.
