Solicitor, voter registration offices to move in FY ’21
County Council 070720
Kershaw County Council unanimously votes on June 30 to approve the Fiscal Year 2021 budget that went into effect the following day. During a discussion of the budget, Kershaw County Administrator Vic Carpenter (bottom, right) confirmed plans to move the county’s voter registration office to 1117 Broad St., the former home of Midlands Printing. The solicitor’s office will then move to where voter registration has been in the old Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office building. The changes are part of an ongoing set of improvements for several departments housed at the nearby courthouse.
Sometime during the new fiscal year that started July 1, the Kershaw County Department of Voter Registration and Elections will move to Broad Street. The current voter registration office, once the home of the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, will be taken over by the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office for Kershaw County. That office is currently located on the top floor of the Kershaw County Courthouse.
