Kershaw County Council officially welcomed a new councilman and chairman at a special swearing-in ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, along with two other councilmen reelected to their seats for the next four years. Council Chairman Julian Burns received a vast majority of the votes in the November 2014 General Election. S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles Director Kevin A. Swedo, a long-time Burns associate, administered the retired general’s oath of office.
