Kershaw County Council meets Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. to discuss a resolution approving a consent agreement regarding Palmetto Utilities, Inc. (PUI)/Spears Creek WWTTP and an amendment to 2006 agreement, approval of the Amended Lugoff Fire Protection District 2016-2017 Budget, and several ordinances and rezoning requests. Kershaw County Administrator Vic Carpenter said PUI wants to expand their infrastructure to treat and discharge 12 million gallons a day of sewage. PUI, which operates in Richland County, currently treats sewage and discharges into ground basins; council wants PUI to create a pipeline to the Wateree River that starts and ends in Kershaw County.
