Adrianna Laster, missing since 2011, remembered by daughter

Adrianna Laster and her daughter, Crystaal (at right), in a family photograph taken before she disappeared in September 2011. Crystaal -- who has lived in Homestead, Fla., for her entire life -- was 10 years old when her mother vanished from Elgin here in Kershaw County. Crystaal said her mother visited her almost every other weekend, called every day and often sent her letters with drawings of dogs, angels, flowers and even snails. When the calls, letters and visits stopped, Crystaal began asking questions.
A decade ago, Crystaal Laster, of Homestead, Fla., started asking questions. Why had her mother, Adrianna Laster, who was living in Elgin, S.C., stopped calling? Why hadn’t she gotten any more letters from her?
