Elgin council thanks emergency responders to fire

The town of Elgin is thanking emergency responders who assisted with a May 10th fire which claimed two businesses. “We had a fire in our community on Mother’s Day … I think it’s one of the worst things I’ve personally have ever seen in our community,” Elgin Mayor Melissa Emmons said during Elgin Town Council’s June 2 meeting. “But there were groups that came together and risked their lives to do what they could to assist our community.
