Elgin Town Council continues to move forward with plans to build a community picnic shelter at Potter Community Park. Councilwoman Dana Sloan, who is serving as chairwoman of the Potter Community Park Committee, reported that the committee met with a builder who suggested that the proposed location of the shelter be slightly moved to lessen potential traffic noise from U.S. 1. The committee also consulted Elgin’s town lawyer about possible liability and insurance issues and discussed ways to finance the project.
