Scott Jones, the winningest coach in the 42-year history of the Lugoff-Elgin High School (L-EHS) football program, retired as both the school’s head football coach and athletic director Wednesday morning to take an assistant coaching, teaching and administrative position at Ben Lippen Christian School in Columbia. Jones informed Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan of his decision early Wednesday morning. “Scott Jones is a man of strong character and integrity who has served Lugoff-Elgin High School well,” Morgan said of Jones’ tenure at Kershaw County’s largest high school.
