Santa Rides Through Lugoff

The Lugoff Fire Department (LFD) will have the honor of escorting Santa Claus through the neighborhoods of Lugoff this year. The LFD will escort Santa through different areas of the Lugoff Community each night, today and Tuesday, and Thursday and Friday. Several Lugoff residents asked that this event return to the community so children can have the opportunity to see the “Jolly One” before he comes on Christmas Night.

The LFD, with the help of sponsors throughout the community, has been able to host this event and others each year.

Parents can call the LFD at 438-2553 to find out what day Santa will visit their neighborhood. The tentative schedule, weather and staff permitting, is as follows:

Today: U.S. 601 area and U.S. 1/Pepperidge area

Tuesday: Boulware Road and Conifer Acres areas

Thursday: Ward Road/Lachicotte Road area and U.S. 1 South - Pine Mark/Four Seasons area

Friday: Ridgeway Road (S.C. 34) area and Pine Grove Road area

Santa will ride through each neighborhood on the fire engine from 6 to 8 p.m. each day. Engine drivers will have the red lights activated on the fire truck and carefully use the siren horn to let residents know Santa is riding through.
