KCC vs. KCSO, a bear and a missing teen

The middle of third of 2012 almost seems like a lifetime ago, now. A lot happened during the months of May, June, July and August, including possibly the year’s top story: the case of a missing Columbia teenage girl resulting in the arrest of an Elgin man. May Discord between Kershaw County Council and the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) came to a head in May when some members of council offered up an ordinance that would have transferred many of the KCSO’s duties to a county police force.
