Food drive
Food drive

Through Aug. 2, 12 Kershaw County banks and credit unions are collecting food and monetary donations to benefit the United Way of Kershaw County’s Mobile Nutrition Center (MCN). The bank/CU that raises the most food and monetary donations will be recognized with a trophy. This food and donation drive has been extremely beneficial in the past, raising nearly 1,500 pounds of food for the MNC. Banks/CUs involved in the drive are: Synovus, Bank of America, The Citizens Bank, Mid Carolina Credit Union, First Citizens Bank, First Community Bank, SAFE Credit Union, and Allsouth Credit Union. The MNC addresses food insecurity in the county by storing and distributing fresh produce, lean meats, and canned goods to five locations in the county. It relies on community organizations, Harvest Hope and food drives to serve the 4,000 residents in need each month. Stop by your local bank or credit union to join the fight and help end hunger in Kershaw County.
