Training for a private applicator license in order to purchase, use or supervise the use of any agricultural pesticide labeled “for restricted use only” will be held Monday in Bishopville.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the W.L. Bryant Ag Building, 5 Courthouse Square, behind the Lee County Courthouse. The training will continue until approximately 3 p.m.; participants will have lunch on their own.
The non-refundable fee is $50; checks may be made payable to Clemson University. Contact Randy Cubbage by noon Friday at (803) 428-8101 or the Kershaw County Clemson Extension Office at 432-9071 if you plan to attend so hand-outs can be prepared ahead.
Participants must earn a minimum grade of 80 on a 10-question exam to be taken at the end of the training session. The exam will come from a label of a restricted-use ag pesticide. The license is issued from the Department of Pesticide Regulation for a separate fee at Pendleton once the exam score is approved.
