Outlaw: chamber building use not candidate endorsement

An event held at the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce facility several weeks ago for then-gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley did not represent an endorsement by the chamber, according to the organization’s president, Deborah Outlaw. Chamber Executive Director Liz Horton said at Tuesday’s chamber board meeting that the Haley bus made a stop in Camden Nov.1, which prompted some complaints from local residents. “We just wanted to make it clear that the Kershaw County Republican Party rented the chamber facility.
