Frank Sheheen Jr., a lifelong resident of Camden, was awarded the South Carolina Addictions Professional of the Year by the S.C. Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (SCAADAC). The award was presented in November at the annual conference. The recipient receives this honor for significant contributions to the profession of addictions counseling in the areas of prevention, treatment, research and administration. Sheheen has been the director of the S.C. Recovering Professional Program for the past seven years and has worked in the addictions profession for more than 23 years. He has served as president of SCAADAC in the past. In 2003 he was award the Addictions Volunteer of the Year. He frequently presents seminars and trainings on various subjects related to addiction and recovery throughout the Southeast.
