Felicia Tham Chi Ting wants the world to know how much joy her teacher, Miss Tina, who was on AirAsia flight QZ8501 that went missing last week, brought to the world in a recent blog post.
Wreckage has been found since the flight disappeared last Sunday, but there are still some pieces missing. Families and friends are now grieving and reflecting on their lost loved ones, like Ting is doing for Miss Tina.
“Never ever would I have imagined that someone I knew would be on that flight,” Ting wrote in the blog post. “It didn’t sink in. I felt numb, indifferent, blank. It just didn’t seem real that you were really on that flight, Miss Tina, it didn’t.”
Ting said she and the rest of her class at Hwa Chong Institution are praying that all of the flight’s wreckage is found: “I know there’s nothing we can do for you now but pray our hardest,” she said.
With the blog post, she wanted to tell everyone what kind of teacher Miss Tina was.
Her post highlights their first encounter -- Miss Tina was a trainee, but then became a biology teacher -- and how Miss Tina took the stage for Teachers’ Day and sang with a guitar, Ting noted in her blog post.
“I know that it isn’t enough to show how important you are to us as our favourite form teacher, as a friend, as family,” Ting wrote on her blog. “But I just hope that people, non HC-ians, HC-ians, the media, will not just see you as a ‘Hwa Chong Biology Teacher,’ but as who you really are, Miss Florentina Maria Widodo.”
