Citizen Rainey
A conservatives crusade for integrity in Governors Mansion, state politics
DSC 0060.JPG
A longtime Republican Party ally, John Rainey entered the political arena in 1987 when he was appointed by Gov. Carroll Campbell to the board of Santee Cooper. Today, from his home in Camden, however, hes bucking the party on at least one count by questioning the integrity of Gov. Nikki Haley. - photo by Martha Bruce
John Rainey is wearing a coat and tie as he strides slowly across the grass of his 17-acre estate -- called Fox Watch Farm -- which is just outside the small town of Camden. It’s after midday, and the sun is turning the nearby dogwood trees gold. Two big German Shepherds follow him through a small English garden that surrounds a gazebo near a horse barn.
