Jim Matthews is going to take a little bit of a break. A week, perhaps, to recharge after nearly two and a half years of campaigning to become Kershaw County’s new sheriff. Matthews, a Republican, won the office Tuesday, beating Democratic candidate Sammie Tucker Jr. by a two-to-one margin, 14,535 to 7,540.
