Shannon O’Lear, a former Chronicle-Independent reporter, recently filed to run for Kershaw County Council Seat 6, which is being vacated by Tom Gardner, who announced earlier this year he was not running for reelection. O’Lear will face Danny Bruce Catoe, Brent Hutto and Wayne Tidwell in the Republican Primary on June 14. No Democrats have filed for the seat.
