Local election officials determined Thursday that the recent S.C. Supreme Court ruling on candidates does not apply to candidates for the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees because their election is non-partisan. The court ruled that candidates must file Statements of Economic Interests at the same time they file their declaration to run. The Kershaw County Board of Elections and Voter Registration met Thursday morning to discuss the school board election, according to Judy Brock, commission chairman.
