Voter turnout light for election

Kershaw County voters went to the polls in light numbers Tuesday, according to Kershaw County Voter Registration Director Rosalind Watson. Watson said drizzling rain Tuesday morning may have left some voters at home, but largely attributed the low turnout to a recent S.C. Supreme Court ruling that removed many candidates from the ballot. “Turnout was very light in the morning and about the same early this afternoon,” Watson said about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
