A graveside service with military rites to honor the life of Alexander “Hick” Etters, Sr., 95, of Camden will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Quaker Cemetery. Rev. John Hallman will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 24 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mr. Etters’ memory to Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 502 DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020 or Camden Lions Club, P.O. Box 587, Camden, SC 29020

Mr. Etters, widower of Ruby Player Etters, died Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born in Chester, SC, the son of the late Keistler Campbell Etters and Sarah Letitia Sloane Miller. He was a US Army veteran and also was in the National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW 5928, 40 & 8 Flat Rock Masonic Lodge and Camden Lions Club. Mr. Etters was a farmer and owner of Etters Family Farms, Etters Esso Station and Dan Hall Freight Lines. Mr. Etters was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his son Alexander “Hick” Etters, Jr. (Christeen) of Camden; a daughter, Kathryn Lovatt (Dan) of Camden; granddaughter, Gabriel Lovatt (Joshua) of Athens, GA; grandson, Daniel Alexander “Xan” Lovatt of Ashburn, VA; great-granddaughter, Asa Hussey-Lovatt of Athens, GA.; and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by his parents; brothers, George, Floyd, Anderson, Clarence. K.C., Jr. and Howard; sister, Lottie Etters Yates.
