A funeral service to celebrate the life of Alice Bennett “Deet” Elliott, 91, of Camden, SC, will be held at 11:00 AM, today, February 24, 2017 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Patterson and Rev. Frank Griffith will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to A. Sam Karesh Long Term Care, 1315 Roberts Street, Camden, SC 29020 or the Shriner’s Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605             

Deet, widow of Lewis Coker “LC” Elliott, of whom she was married to for 59 years, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017. She was born in Lancaster, SC, the daughter of the late William Edgar Bennett and Sadie Dabney Bennett. Deet was a nurse for Dr. Bennie Marshall. She was a member of the Camden Shrine Auxiliary.

Deet is survived by her daughters, Nancy E. Smith (Glen) of Lugoff, and Claudia E. King (Sonny) of Clinton; grandchildren, Nikie Smith, Paige Cooper (Scott), Rob Branham, Jay Smith (Katie), and Sally Branham; and great-grandchildren, Abby Roulston and Zeke Roulston, Ali Smith & Leighton Smith.

Deet was predeceased by her brothers, Claude, Earl & Glenn; sisters, Susie Smarr & Saralie Simpson.
