Anne Harris Dworjanyn, 83, passed peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018 in Huntington, N.Y., surrounded by her four children.
Anne was the loving mother of Tanya, Peter, Natalia and Larissa; adoring grandmother of Alexandra, Aaron, Eli, Gabriel, Jack, Nicholas, Ian, Quinlan, Xenia, William and Fiona.
Anne was born in Dulwich Hill, Australia in 1934 to William and Margaret Harris and was the youngest of seven children. She left Australia in 1960 and after spending time in England and Wilmington, DE, she moved to Camden, where she was a long-time resident.
She began nursing at age 17 in Australia and received her BS in Nursing from the University of South Carolina. As a Labor and Delivery nurse and Lamaze teacher she brought joy to hundreds at Kershaw County Memorial Hospital.
Anne loved travel, gardening, the Arts and a strong martini, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her home was filled with laughter and love.
At her request, her body is being cremated and her ashes will be spread in Australia. A private service was held Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Centerport, N.Y., with a Celebration of her Life to be held this spring in Camden.
Her family would greatly appreciate any memories you would like to share about Anne. Please send any memories or photographs via email to AnneDworjanynTribute@yahoo.com.
