Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ella Elizabeth "Betty" Baskins Davis, 90, of Camden and recently Huntersville, NC will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11:00AM at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Rev. Steve Patterson and Rev. David Weaver will officiate. Memorials may be made in Betty’s memory to Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, 1206 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Mrs. Davis, widow of Londees Davis, died November 9, 2012. She was born in Lancaster and and she attended the Tabernacle Church there. She was the daughter of the late Leroy Springs Baskins and Ella Henriette Rowell Baskins. She was an active member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church before her move to Huntersville and a member of the Eastern Star-Leslie Zemp Chapter 111, where she held offices including past Worthy Matron and also held various state offices. Betty was a retired nurse, who trained at Kershaw County Memorial Hospital and spent her nursing career there until she retired, after which she volunteered at the desk greeting visitors.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Cindy Davis of Hunterville; sister, Ruby Carroll of Miami, FL nieces and nephews.. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, her only son Londees Davis, Jr. and four brothers, Morris,Harry, Willie and James Baskins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Preston House Alzheimer’s Assisted Living in Charlotte for the extra love, care and patience they showed for Betty over the last year. Their thoughtfulness and respect for her nursing supervisor abilities was appreciated.
