A funeral service to celebrate the life of Betty Jean Scott Hatfield, 69, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 9, 2013 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, Camden, SC. Rev. Richard Cameron and Rev. Burch Kelly will officiate. Burial will follow in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P. O. Betty Jean Scott Hatfield, wife of 53 years, of Floyd Eason Hatfield, died Friday, December 6, 2013. She was born in Camden, SC, the daughter of the late Charles Samuel and Ruby Williams Scott. She was the founder of Old South Restaurant and was a great lover of people, flowers and especially her rose garden.
Besides her husband, Betty is survived by her daughter, Angela Jill Sharpe (Sam) of Camden, SC; sons, Charles Floyd Hatfield (Lindsie) of Camden, SC, and Jeffrey Scott Hatfield (Sharon) of Lugoff, SC; grandchildren, Joey Sharpe, Wade Sharpe, Jeffrey Hatfield II, Gracelyn Hatfield and Joshua Hatfield; great-grandchildren, Eason, Peyton and Mason Sharpe; chosen daughter, Debbie Swallow of Camden, SC; sister, Brenda Scott Bowden (A.P.) of Garden City, SC; brother, Charles Franklin Scott (Elaine) of Camden, SC; and loyal companion, Teacup Poodle, "Dossie"
