Funeral services for Billie E. Bowers, 90, of Kershaw, will be today, February 20, at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church, Camden. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Visitation with the family will follow the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.

Mr. Bowers, husband of Margaret Small Bowers died Saturday, February 17. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Luther Bowers and Nettie Bowers. He was a veteran of the Army and a retiree of DuPont. Mr. Bowers was a longtime member of DeKalb Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and member of the church choir. He was an avid softball player and pitched until he was 83 years old. His greatest accomplishment in his life was the love of his family and was married to his sweetheart, Margaret for 72 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughters; Nancy Adams (Wayne), Dianne Truesdale (Joey); sons Mike Bowers (Debbie), Ricky Bowers (Wanda); 9 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brothers Walter, Leo, Harold, and Ward Bowers. Also surviving are his brother Gary Bowers (Ann) of Kershaw and sister-in-laws, Willie Mae Bowers and Akiko Bowers, both of Camden.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Palmetto Health Hospice.
