A funeral service to celebrate the life of Carl Randolph Truesdale, 76, of Camden was held Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Rev. Phillip Gerrald oficiated. Burial with Masonic Rites was in Quaker Cemetery. The family received friends at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020 or the Shriners Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.    

Carl died Friday, January 19, 2017 at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital. He was born December 28, 1941 in Camden, SC, the son of the late Albertus Truesdale and Sara Gaskin Truesdale. Carl was a twenty eight year veteran of the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department, a member of Lynchwood Lodge #197 and Kershaw Lodge #29, where he was a past Worshipful Master, a Grand High Priest of the Grand Royal Arch Masons Chapter of South Carolina, a member of the Jamil Temple and past president of the Camden Shrine Club. Carl was a member of First Baptist Church.

Carl is survived by his brother Gerald Wayne Truesdale of Antioch Community; brothers-in-law, Larry Watkins (Robin) and Phil Watkins (Myra); and 6 nieces. 

Carl was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Watkins Truesdale; and his brothers, James Thomas Truesdale and Donald A. Truesdale.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
