Carson Anderson Douglas

Funeral service to celebrate the life of Carson  Anderson Douglas, 85, of Camden, will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church, Camden Hwy., Bishopville with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry Gardner and Rev. Brett DeYoung will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 6:00 -8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be sent in Mr. Douglas memory to the American Heart Association of SC Memorials & Tributes, P.O. Box 4216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

Mr. Douglas died Monday, August 20, 2012. Born in Hartsville, he was the son of the late Walter Anderson and Ethel Tunstel Douglas. He had retired from DuPont and Hermitage Cotton Mill.

 He was a US Army veteran having served in the 11th Airborne Division during WWII. Mr. Douglas was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was very loyal to his Scottish Heritage.

Surviving is his wife Ella “Bertha” Steen Douglas of 59 1/2 years; Daughters Gloria Morgan (Don) of Lake Wateree, Sylvia D. Noll of Columbia, Paula McCoy (Derrick) of McBee; sons, Johnny Douglas (Sylvia) of Camden, Mitchell Douglas (Elizabeth) of Camden, Gerald Michael  Douglas of Cassatt; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is assisting the family.
