Mrs. Catherine Hilton Dantzler, 87, formerly of Holly Hill, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2012 at KershawHealth in Camden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Locke officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill. Mrs. Dantzler was born in Berkeley County, a daughter of the late Paul T. Hilton and Gussie Welch Hilton. 

She was retired from the Holly Hill Grammar School and had formerly worked at Brandenburg’s Grocery and Holly Hill Locker Co.  Mrs. Dantzler was a creative seamstress, having sewn for the former Noah’s Ark in Holly Hill.  She enjoyed fishing and traveling as well as gardening. She was preceded in death by a son, Allen Dantzler.

Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Dantzler of Oakland, Cal.; a son, Tony Dantzler of Lugoff, and a brother, Harold Hilton of the Sandridge Community.
