Charles Burroughs, Jr., 105, of Camden, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord, September 9, 2015, at his home, with loving family members at his side. He was a lifetime member of St. Matthew UMC in Camden, where he served on several boards. He worked for New York Central Railroad until his retirement after forty years. He also trained horses in New Rochelle, NY. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Della Dunlap Burroughs, and granddaughter, Teresa Branch. Charles is survived by his only daughter, Fannie (Andre) Branch; grands, Charles A. Branch, Della (Paul) Branch-Bullock, Todd (Cindy) A. Branch all of Syracuse, NY; Deraux (Stephanie) Branch of Silver Springs, MD; four great-grands; seven great-great grands and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Burroughs will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Nelson-Haile Funeral Home, Camden, is in charge.
