A memorial service for Charles Terry Carson, 83, of Camden will be held at a later date in Lillington, NC. Mr. Carson died Oct. 5, 2011. Born in Sanford, NC, he was the son of the late Herbert Allison Dale Carson and Belle Terry Carson. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. Mr. Carson retired after 30 years as an Oceanographer with NOAA. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Silvertones Choir and also a member of the Golden K and the James Leroy Belk Post 17 of the American Legion. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kemp Carson; daughter, Terrie Carson Miller and her husband Fredrick D. Miller of Elgin; son, Richard Edward Carson of VA and three granddaughters, Becky, Laura and Linda.  He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Carson and three brothers, Herbert, William and Robert Carson.
