Dallas Ray Hazelwood

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Dallas Ray Hazelwood, 99, of Camden will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Lakeview Baptist Church in Camden. Rev.  Hugh McKinney and Chaplain Brian Ogburn will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Hazelwood’s memory to Kershaw Health Hospice, 124 Battleship Road, Camden, SC 29020.

Dallas Ray Hazelwood, widow of J. Grant Hazelwood, died Saturday, March 15, 2014. She was born in Montgomery, Ala., the daughter of the late Madison Butler and Willie Belle Plyant Ray. Mrs. Hazelwood was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and was a longtime owner of Hazelwood Cleaners in Camden.

Mrs. Hazelwood is survived by her sons, Ray Grant Hazelwood (Molly) of Camden and Dr. William Madison Hazelwood (Beverly) of Florence; grandchildren, Emily Naqvi (Abbas) of Florence, Amy Hazelwood of Columbia, Adam Williamson of Atlanta and Katie Tressler (Tim) of Virginia Beach, Va.; great-grandchildren, Harris Naqvi, Amelia Naqvi, and Madeline Newton; nieces and nephews; and co-worker and close friend, Jean Goodwin.

Mrs. Hazelwood was predeceased by her sister, Frances Ray Simpson.
The Hazelwood family would like to thank Kershaw Health Hospice for their love and dedication and caregivers, Sallie Alexander, Manarsha Washington and Marcy Mill.
