David Calhoun Chandler Jr., 66, of Torreón, México, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019, after a brief illness at Sanatorio Español.
A native of Camden, S.C., Mr. Chandler was the oldest son of the late David Calhoun and Ollie Marva Horton Chandler Sr. He was of the Christian faith.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his wife, Aurora Salazar; daughter, Dana Chandler Jones (Ben) of Walhalla, S.C.; sons, David Oliver Chandler (Rebekah) of Camden, S.C., and Oscar Manuel Chandler of Torreón, México; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Oscar Horton Chandler of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Johnny Heyward Chandler Sr. of Lugoff, S.C.
Mr. Chandler was an avid golfer and had a passion for youth ministry as well as coaching youth sports. He was instrumental in his biological children’s lives, as well as the lives of countless other children that he took under his wing.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Beulah United Methodist Church in Camden, S.C.
