David, husband of Suzanne DuBose Ziemke, died Saturday, November 26, 2016. He was born in Suffolk, VA, the son of the late Arthur W. Ziemke and Mabel Waddell Ziemke. David served in the US Air Force, was a former employee of DuPont, former Executive at Columbia Lumber Company and retired owner of Camden Builders Supply and Wateree Ace Hardware. He was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church.

David is survived by his wife Sue DuBose Ziemke; children, Scott Trent Ziemke (Wendy) of Camden, Stacey Ziemke Jaeggi (Jeff) of Simpsonville, and Kimbrough Ziemke Ackerman (Jeff) of Beaufort; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Marple (Ross), Gregory James Jaeggi, Rae Ann Jaeggi, Ryan Pierce Ackerman and Adam Trent Ackerman; and great-grandchildren, Lillian and Charlie Marple. David was predeceased by his sister, Vivian Ziemke Lankford.

David had a zest for life that guided him to experience all that it offered. His influence on all of us as his wife, children, grandchildren and friends will forever be ingrained in our souls. He was a lover of a good joke, great friends, a good drink and lots of laughter.

We would like to thank all of the family, friends, and our Camden Builders Supply/Wateree Ace Hardware family who supported us and David in this last year. We would especially like to thank his two dear caretakers, Sondra Dixon and Maggie Oriol for their unwavering love and compassion during this time.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
