A funeral service celebrating the life of Dempsey G. "Jack" Stogner, 93, of Camden, will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church in Camden at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 8, 2013. Rev. Hugh McKinney and Rev. James Jordan will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church at 10:30 PM, 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Quaker Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Jack’s memory to Lakeview Baptist Church, 1520 Mill Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Dempsey G. "Jack" Stogner, husband of Virginia Brush Stogner, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was born in the Timrod Community in Kershaw, SC, the son of the late C.O. Stogner, Sr., and Desda McManus Stogner. He was retired from the Stogner Saw Company and was an instructor pilot in WWII with the Army Air Corps. Jack was a charter member and Deacon Emeritus of Lakeview Baptist Church, and a longtime member of Kiwanis. He spent 25 years of his retirement traveling, enjoying nature and hiking while visiting the State National Parks.

Besides his wife, Jack is survived by his daughter, Carol Lynn Davies of Hillsville, VA; son, Michael J. Stogner of Easley, SC; and five grandchildren. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his son, Donald R. Stogner.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
