She was blessed with nine grandchildren; Joyell Brown, Stacey Small, Brandi Rhodes, Nic Stockman, Ashleigh Dixon, Brittany Fulmer, Phillip Morin, Chase Morin, Brooke Morin; and 16 great grandchildren.

Doris was beloved by her family and friends. She lived in the Stockman family home place for 70 plus years where she also loved and helped care for her in-laws, Opa and Oma, until their passing.

There was lots of laughter during birthdays, holidays, family gatherings, and just day to day activity. She loved her Lord and Savior and enjoyed reading scripture, sharing her wisdom, crocheting, gardening in her younger years and tending to the farm alongside Boo which included shelling beans, shucking corn and canning vegetables from the family garden. The Stockman homeplace was a source of great love and activity with family and friends frequently coming to visit, sharing meals, and having conversation.

Her hobbies were cooking for her family and spending time hosting guests in her home with her family.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today,  January 25 at Harmony Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Dan Griffin and The Rev. Chris Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends Thursday at Shives Funeral Home, 7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia.
