Dorothy Truesdale Hatfield, beloved wife of the late Fred Lee Hatfield, Sr., died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at her residence.
Born in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Truesdale, Sr. and Ellie Isabelle Outlaw Truesdale. Mrs. Hatfield was a master gardener and owner of Unique Antiques and Gifts. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Surviving are: one son, Fred L. Hatfield, Jr. of Sumter and two daughters, Debra Hatfield Converse of Bishopville and Machelle Hatfield Geddings and her husband John of Sumter; six grandchildren, Lee Hatfield and his wife Misty, Amberly Osteen and her husband Eric, Shea Hatfield Stone and her husband Mike, Brooke Rogers and her husband Phil, Fawn Hughes and her husband Terry and Tristina Hatfield; ten great grandchildren; Rilee Hatfield, Braelynn Durham, Anna Hatfield, Seth Hughes, Zowie Hatfield, Ellie Stone, Kadin Durham, Wyatt Hughes, David-Izak Rogers and Brody Olson; one brother, Patrick "Pat" Truesdale of Lexington and four sisters, Shirley Truesdale Weaver of Gilbert, Velma Truesdale Gaskins of Lexington, Patricia Jeffcoat of Columbia and Jeanette Truesdale Shirey of Irmo.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Truesdale, Jr. and a granddaughter, Courtney Converse.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Wedgefield Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Goff officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
