Funeral services celebrating the life of Walter Edgerton "Eddie" Riggan, Jr. 63, of Camden will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Camden. Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.

Eddie, the husband of Barbara Bailey Riggan, was born in Hamlet, NC, the son of Walter Edgerton Riggan and Betty Segars Riggan. Eddie was retired from DuPont with 36 years of service. He was currently employed at Invista as a Material Coordinator. Eddie was a life member of the Camden Shrine Club and served in the National Guard. He was a long time member of IPTAY and supporter of Clemson, including the Kershaw County Clemson Club.

He was a dedicated husband and father, and the best granddaddy to his precious grandchildren. His many friends knew him well for his generous spirit and his willingness to help others. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents, Eddie is survived by his daughter, Carmen Riggan Dennis (James) of Rembert, SC; son, Walter E "Trey" Riggan III (Christina) of Camden; granddaughters, Rebekah, Harlee & Diana Dennis, and Caroline Riggan; grandson, Jack Dennis; sister, Lou Ann Riggan Horton (Mark) of Suwanee, GA; mother and father-in-law, Bill & Helen Bailey; sister-in-law, Sandra Ives; brother-in-law, Michael Bailey; 2 nieces and 5 nephews.

Eddie was predeceased by his infant daughter, Rebekah Lynn Riggan, maternal grandparents, Tommie & Estelle Segars; paternal grandparents, Alva James & Cornelia Riggan; and a niece, Jessica Horton.
