A funeral service to celebrate the life of Emma Adair Toms, 84, of Camden, SC, will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 8, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Camden. Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM, 1 hour prior to the service, in the Fellowship Center at the church. Memorials may be made in Emma’s memory to First Baptist Church, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Emma Adair Toms, wife of Jerry F. Toms, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015. She was born in Rutherford County, NC, the daughter of the late Fowler Adair and Ida Price Adair. Emma was a graduate of Palmer College and Limestone College. She was retired from the Kershaw County School District. Emma was a member of First Baptist Church and taught an adult women’s class. She was a longtime member of the choir and member of the Lydia Sunday School Class. Emma had a real love of gardening and traveling.

Besides her husband, Emma is survived by her daughters, Linda Wall (Robert) of Camden and Sylvia Toms of Camden, grandchildren, Jerry Benjamin Wall (Crystal) of Camden and Emily Ann Jones (Nick) of Elgin; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren, Helen Wall and Robert Wall III; and her brother, Elbert “Gene” Adair (Sharon) of Forest City, NC.

Besides her parents, Emma was predeceased by her sister, Lucille Buff, Margaret Phillips and Frances Gowan; and her brothers, Harold “Joe” Adair and Marshall Adair.                   .
