A memorial service to celebrate the life of Fred Angel, Jr., 73, of Columbia, SC, will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at 1 pm at Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Gene Rollins will officiate. Memorials may be made to Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church,18 Meeting Street, Liberty Hill, SC 29074.

Fred was a former U.S.M.C. during the Vietnam Era.  Fred went home to be with his maker on Dec 16, 2017 at Agape Hospice House in Columbia, SC. Fred was born to the late Fred Earl Angel, Sr. and Reba Dunlap Angel in Charleston, W. Virginia on Jan 1, 1944. Fred retired from Southern Bell after thirty-three years.

Preceding him in death are two sisters Mary Kathrine Angel Holt and Ruthann Angel Young. Left to cherish the memories is his wife of twenty-two years, Sumiko Olsen Angel; two sons, Brian Keith Angel and fiancé, Lisa Brooks of Hickory, NC and Mark Christopher Angel and wife Elizabeth Angel also of Hickory, NC. Three granddaughters; Michelle Lynn Keller and husband Jamie of Elizabethton, TN, Jessie Lee Angel, of Cario, NY, and Courtney Breanna Angel, of Morganton, NC. Seven great grandchildren and his canine son, Duke. One sister, Rebecca “Bobbie” Angel Griffith, of Lakeland, FL. One brother, George H. Angel, of Hendersonville, NC. Along with several nieces and nephews. His life time friend’s, Duke Rhoney of Hildebran, NC and Alvin “Wormy” Newton of Connelly Springs, NC. His caregivers: CA, Jodi McCormick, and Jodi and Mindy Bella. His PA. Gene Rollins.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
