A funeral service to honor the life of George Brantley Freeman, Sr., 91, of Camden, SC, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Lake Swamp Baptist Church in Timmonsville, SC. Rev. Bruce League and Rev. Brant Freeman will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church starting at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made in George’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.

George Brantley Freeman, Sr., widower of Helen Stabler Freeman, died Saturday, December 5, 2015. He was born in Timmonsville, SC, the son of the late Dudley William Freeman, Sr., and Lillie Jordan Freeman. George was a United States Navy Veteran and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired from DuPont as a Power Engineering Specialist. George was a member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church.

George is survived by his son, Rev. George Brantley Freeman, Jr. and is wife Mandy of Lugoff, SC; granddaughter, Hannah Freeman (Mark Widener) of Lugoff, SC; great-granddaughter, Emma Widener of Lugoff, SC; and his sister, Eula McCaskill of the Lake Swamp Community.

George was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Tommie Duke, Eunis Howell, Mary Duke and Sudie Weaver; and his brother, Dudley W. Freeman Jr.
