Grace Ellis McNeely, 86, wife of Clifton Kenneth McNeely Sr., died Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Born August 29, 1926, in Camden, she was a daughter of the late John Sidney Ellis and the late Ethel Moore Ellis. She was a 1942 graduate of Camden High School, a certified pharmaceutical technician, a Sunday school teacher, GA's teacher, a member of the WMU and Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Paulette Yates of Faison, NC and Deborah Geiger of West Columbia; a son, Clifton Kenneth McNeely Jr. of Benson, NC; an adopted daughter, Karen Myers of Manning; two sisters, Mary Langley of Camden and Eloise Hinson of Sumter; a brother, Charles Ellis of Camden; grandchildren, Carlette Whitesides (Rev. Michael), Virginia Pauling (Jimmy), Clifton McKain McNeely, Jennifer McNeely, Casey Lee (Robert), Ashley West, John Geiger (Candice), Joshua Geiger and Joseph Geiger (Kristin); great grandchildren, DeShay, Victoria, Bryce and Rebecca McNeely, Patrick Fallin, Kenneth Whitesides, Laiya Freeman, James Pauling, Ainsley and Caroline Geiger; and special friends, Burnette Geddings, Eloise Hinson and Betty Lynn Charnoc.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Willie Sharpe, Merlene Ellis, Ruth Merrel, Ted, Zemp, Elmer "Boge" and Kendall Ellis.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Wateree Baptist Church Cemetery, 2024 Haile Street, Camden 29020, with Rev. Michael Whitesides officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom Vassar.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Stephens Funeral Home.
