A service to celebrate the life of Grace Horton Holley of Camden, SC, age 99, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Pastor Terry Corder will officiate with burial following immediately in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Jefferson, SC. The family will be available one hour before the service to receive friends, beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
Grace Holley, widow of Robert (Bob) L. Holley, died on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Aiken, SC. She was born March 7, 1919 near Bethune, SC, the daughter of the late Maggie Jones and Wade C. Horton. As a member of First Baptist Church of Camden for over 50 years, she served as a Sunday school teacher, a leader in WMU, and a member of the Sunshine club and Silvertone choir.
Grace graduated from Winthrop College in 1946. Later she received her Master’s Degree from Mississippi State University. She taught school for 41 years, was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, as well as other local and state educational organizations, and retired from the Kershaw County School System.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Holley Hood (Richard) of Aiken, and grandsons Robert Hood (Marilyn) of Vancouver, WA and Patrick Hood of Mauldin, SC.
She was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers.
Memorials may be made to the building program at First Baptist Church of Camden or the charity of one’s choice.
