Harold William Flynn, 85, of Camden, SC died Monday, April 25, 2016 at the The Covenant Place of Sumter. Graveside services were conducted by the Reverend Charles Davis Thursday, April 28 at Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC. 

Mr. Flynn was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to James Henry and Jane Elizabeth Smith Flynn. He worked for DuPont after moving to Camden in the early fifties retiring after 37 years. He also retired from the SC National Guard after 20 years of service. He was a long time member of Grace Episcopal Church having served on the vestry and as junior warden.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Byrd Flynn, daughters, Lois Stuber, Joan Flynn, and Rhonda Tucker of Camden; grandchildren, Sarah Marie Horton of New Haven Conn., James Horton of Appomattox, Virginia, Katherine Allen of Weaverville, NC, Will Tucker of Seneca, Caroline Hodge of Fort Mill, Susan Umberger of Irmo, Madeline Gentry of Charlotte, NC., Ryan Leaphart and Henry Leaphart of Lexington, Emily Leaphart of Rochester, NY; 11 great-grandchildren, stepsons, Mike Byrd of Florence, Bill Byrd of Marion, Jeanie Vinson of Chapin and Judy Gregory of Little River. Surviving sisters are Madeline Tozlowski of Ashland, Mass., and Eileen Griggs of Charlotte, NC.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Stella Taylor Flynn, mother of his daughters, his parents, his brothers, James H Flynn, Charles R Flynn, Robert A Flynn, Earle E Flynn, Leo J Flynn, Roy N Flynn, Kenneth A Flynn and sister, Dorothy E Gargill.

Kornegay Funeral Home Camden is in charge of arrangements.
