A memorial service to celebrate the life of Henry Hill “Rooster” DuRant, Jr., 69, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Center following the service. Memorials may be made in Henry’s memory to the SC Autism Society, 806 12th Street, West Columbia, SC 29169 or Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, 1206 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Henry Hill DuRant, Jr. died Sunday, November 8, 2015. He was born in Columbia, SC, the son of Willene West Ogburn and the late Henry Hill DuRant, Sr. Henry was the retired owner of The Allstate Insurance Agency of Camden and was a member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. He was active in his community, loved life, people, and had a host of friends.

Henry is survived by his wife, Susan Dorsey DuRant; mothers, Willene West Ogburn and Mary Elizabeth King DuRant; mother-in-law, Louise Bell Dorsey; son, Henry Hill DuRant III (Aimee); daughters, Margaret Dorsey DuRant and Lydia Kate DuRant Moore (Brandon); grandchildren, Louise Field Moore, Margaret Kate Moore, Margaret Elliott DuRant, Elizabeth Reynolds DuRant, Henry Martin DuRant and Miles DuRant Moore; brothers, Francis Snowden DuRant (Mary) of Brunswick, GA, Joseph Snow DuRant of Awendaw, SC and Charles King DuRant (Chrissy) of Charleston, SC; sisters, Dr. Mary Elizabeth DuRant of Beaufort, SC and Lottie Anne DuRant Munday (Bill) of Bluffton, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

Henry was predeceased by his fathers, Henry Hill DuRant, Sr. and W. Edward Ogburn, Sr.; and his brothers, William Nelson DuRant, Sr. and W. Edward Ogburn, Jr.
