A graveside funeral service for Herbert Allison Campbell, age 73 of Camden will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 20, 2011 at Quaker Cemetery. Reverend Sheila Rogers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mr. Campbell’s memory to Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, 1206 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Mr. Campbell died on Friday, June 17, 2011. Born February 23, 1938, he was the son of the late Herbert A.  Campbell and Virginia Rhoad Campbell. He was a lifetime member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church and an original member of the church’s Boy Scout troop where he was an Eagle Scout and  member of the Order of the Arrow.

Herb was a proud graduate of Camden High School, class of 1956. He attended the University of South Carolina and served as a page in the South Carolina House of Representatives.

As a lifetime professional realtor, Herb was a founding member of the Kershaw County Board of Realtors. He served the Board in many capacities, both local and state-wide. He also served on the Board of Santee Lynches Council of Governments.

An avid quail hunter, Herb enjoyed the great outdoors with his dogs and horses. He was a longtime member of the Mid-Carolina Field Trial Club and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Association of South Carolina Field Trial Clubs.

Herb was predeceased August 1, 2008 by his beloved wife of nearly 45 years, Terry Shumate Campbell. He is survived by his two daughters, Kellie C. Bates (Tim) of Sammamish, WA and Aimee C. Culler (Dave) of Mooresville, NC, and his six grandchildren, Haley, Kelsey and Campbell Bates and Coley, Walker and Stoney Culler.
